The Michigan Mile - Standing Mile
The Michigan Mile host its inaugural race at The Battle Creek Field of Flight and Balloon Festival. Spectators will have the chance to see some of the fastest vehicles in the world participate in standing mile racing. Each vehicle will have one mile of open runway to achieve the fastest speeds possible. Each competitor has three opportunities to lay down their fastest speed of the day. We play host to a varied field of automotive and motorcycle competitors from all over the country, from domestic muscle cars to Italian exotics, all automotive enthusiast are welcomed. Our primary mission statement is to unite all of those who appreciate the skill and craftsmanship behind high performance vehicles, regardless of the medium in which it may travel. A common bond exist between every pilot, race car driver, engineer or mechanic who chases the thrill of a quicker lap time or a faster top speed. The Michigan Mile is the one event that can satisfy the need of even the most die-hard speed seekers while being safe and enjoyable for those of all ages. We feel that Michigan, being the automotive capital, deserves a definitive automotive event that is unlike anything else in the world. The Michigan Mile, in conjunction with the Battle Creek Field of Flight and Balloon Festival offer these key features
• Michigan’s First – This is the first officially timed standing mile event in the state
• Attendance levels – 70,000 to 100,000 will be in attendance during the 4th of July weekend.
• New Exposure - Exposing a completely new audience to the sport of standing mile racing
• World Stage - Spectators and Performers attending from all over the world.
We seek to grow this event and produce it annually for many years to come.
Michigan Mile Car Show;
Welcome to the first annual Michigan Mile event. This event is scheduled to take place from July 5th -7th at W.K. Kellogg Airport in Battle Creek, MI. This event will be offering something that has not been done before…an all out action packed weekend with some of the hottest, fastest, and most exotic cars you’ve ever seen. Not only that, it’s will take place at the same time as the Battle Creek Airshow. This is truly going to be a family event for all to enjoy. Some drivers will have an opportunity to be able to run the Mile Run on a working airport runway. Others will show off their pride and joy in a two day car show. We have opened the show classes to all makes and models. Although this is our first show, we have many years of experience to bring to the table. We have teamed up with Ryan from Mid Atlantic Mega Meet to help organize make it easy for all to enjoy. Mischief.TV will also be on hand to cover the event for later release, possibly on a new video to be released late summer. We are very excited to offer this event to you and look forward to seeing you. If you’re not participating in the event, you are most welcome and encouraged to attend. Pre-Registration is highly recommended as there are limited spaces available, and there will be no guarantee there will be gate registration. (Registration includes 1 weekend wristbands)
